Maximizing Your Marketing Potential Through the Use of Social Media

By | Marketing, Social Media Marketing | No Comments
Social media plays a key role in marketing. Considering over 2 billion people use social media throughout the world, utilizing the proper marketing methods can help your information reach more people.

To maximize your social media reach, it is essential to engage users through the distribution of relevant material when they need it. Since social media is saturated with information, your material runs the risk of getting lost prior to being seen.

Read on to learn more about why social media is a crucial marketing tool and how to optimize your social media output and engage as many viewers as possible.

Monitoring Social Media Improves Content Creation

The most effective marketers monitor social media closely prior to posting material. Paying attention to current trends is an excellent way to determine your audience’s feelings about different topics and industries.

Although this task can be tedious, various tools help move the process along smoothly.
Certain brands can help you obtain data-driven insight that allows you to know what your potential customers are talking about. Identifying their top questions and interests will help you cater content to their needs.

To use your social media monitoring to help you discover your client’s interests, begin by compiling a list of terms and phrases related to your brand. This list will help you determine how to make your brand relevant to your client’s interests and needs.

Social Media’s Reach is Almost Limitless

The ultimate marketing goal is to spread your content as far as possible. With social media, there are few limits as to how far your content can reach.

To encourage users to share and spread your content to increase its outreach, consider the following factors:

  • Visual appeal – Each piece should have a pleasing visual appeal – such as the inclusion of photos. Content with at least one photo is significantly more likely to be shared.
  • Make it easy to share – In addition to the standard “share” button, consider adding other options that make it easy for users to share content.

Use Influencers to Your Advantage

Teaming up with the right influencer on social media can generate a rapid increase in your content marketing success. With the correct influencer on your side, you can boost your client retention and sales by more than double than paid advertising. If an influencer chooses to share or retweet your content, it can provide a significant impact on your business.

Locating influencers may take a bit of research. Begin by determining the key influencers – bloggers, journalists, other business owners – in your area of business. Certain tools allow you to evaluate influencer scores to decide which ones you may want to pursue. Developing a relationship with an influencer may be one of the smartest business moves you end up making.

Final Thoughts

Proper use of social media is a crucial factor in the success of your marketing. To distribute your content as efficiently as possible, consider adjusting your social media presence to reflect a your client’s needs.

Your Social Media SEO Checklist for 2017

By | Marketing, Social Media Marketing | No Comments

Whether you are a consumer or you’re a business, social media has become a main staple in our everyday lives. It’s how we now get our news, it’s how we figure out the latest trends, it’s how we shop, and it’s how we interact and talk with people in general. Social media plays a significant part in not just our daily lives, but it also in growing our businesses. If you’re a business owner, you should already be aware of how much social media can be used as a platform to promote and grow your brand. However, staying on top of your social media isn’t always easy. Managing it can be tough, as well as utilizing it to the best of its marketing ability. That is why we will present to you in this article how to better manage your social media marketing strategy, and further boost your SEO.

One of the biggest reasons you’ll want to invest your time and money into social media marketing is because, as we said, it is one of the best ways to capture the attention of not only existing customers, but also attract new customers. However, your results will be completely dependent upon the goals that you set. Which is why it is so vital when starting your process of coming up with a strategy that you have set goals in mind. Whether this be to increase brand awareness, reach a new target market, grow brand engagement, increase traffic to your website, explore new business ventures, or work with new clients, you’ll want to know exactly where you’re going before you even start. Which brings us to the strategy process.

Step #1: Brainstorming

Once you have your goals set, you’ll want to start the brainstorming process. It’s here where you’ll come up with the ideas of the different ways you can boost your social media marketing. A few ways you can do this are to be aware of the latest trends and see how they can fit your strategy. You can reevaluate your platforms and see if they are still suitable for your audience, or if you’ll need to start building new platforms. You’ll want to engage in new content ideas and experiment with them. And most importantly you’ll want to be creative and think outside the box. Don’t be afraid to ask for help in bringing other team members to help widen your perspective.

Step #2: Planning

After you have completed your brainstorming session, it is now time to start planning an effective and well thought out strategy to help your social media marketing. In order to do this you want to ask yourself a few questions, and make necessary updates to your old strategy. For instance, you want to ask yourself what improvements you need to make to your existing content calendar.  Ask yourself how effective is your current content and are you creating enough content at an effective rate? You’ll also want to reevaluate the different channels that you’re using. Are they effective? Or should you add new ones? During this process make sure that you organize your goals and have a well thought out plan to reach those goals.

Step #3: Implementation

This is probably the most difficult part. Because you can brainstorm and plan all you want, but if you never implement your strategy you will get nowhere. So, once you hit this stage you are now ready to check the practical aspect of your social media marketing. For instance, are you making sure that you’re following and implementing your content calendar? Are you monitoring all of your social accounts? Do you have a plan in place to deal with emergency or high priority situations? Have you evaluated your customer service and made a plan to better optimize it with social media? All of these questions and more need to be answered and implemented in order to be successful. Also, you need to make sure that not only are you implementing content and managing your social media outlets. But, you also need to make sure that you’re responding to your customers and replying to their comments. After all, they need to know that they are more than just a number to you.

Step #4: Measurement

This step is vital because this is where you will keep track of how the implementation of your plan is going. You’ll need to make sure that you’re consistently looking to see if your initial goals are being met. And if they aren’t, ask yourself if were they realistic to begin with? If the answer is no, go back to the drawing board and strategize more realistic goals. If your goals are being met and things are going smoothly, then make sure you’re staying up to date with all of the data that is coming in, as well as staying up-to-date with current trends and the needs and wants of your customers.

Although there is no perfect strategy, you can come up with the best type of strategy for your business with social media marketing. It just takes some time, hard work, and creativity in order to create a winning strategy that will help boost your SEO for the year 2017.

Seeing Into The Future With Social Media Data

By | Marketing, Social Media Marketing | No Comments

You have seen “Back to the Future”, right? Well, if you haven’t you should. It’s pretty much a classic. But, for those of you who have seen it, know we’ve always dreamed of being able to have the hovercrafts, the cool gadgets, and of course, the ability to travel into the future. After all, time travel is probably one of the most sought after and talked about forms of travel, especially on sci-fi networks. While it may seem impossible, or out of our reach, what if we told you that even though you couldn’t travel, you can predict the future by watching social media trends? In this article, we will share with you ideas behind how we think you can see into the future by just opening up and studying social media data.

Let’s talk about food. If you noticed, in the past 5 years the idea of getting healthy and in shape has increased dramatically. Yes, we’ve always seen those ads to lose weight and to shed those extra pounds. But, recently we have seen more of a trend to get it in shape and eat healthier diets. Before, “healthier” meant low-fat diets. Now however, it means a diet consisting of healthy fat and low in carbs. So, how does it have anything to do with predicting the future? Well, this is just an example of how a certain industry will watch trends on social media; so different food manufacturers and restaurant owners will know how to structure their menus. Case in point, gluten-free. Prior to 2010, you rarely saw items that were gluten-free. And if you did, their price tag was an enormous. However, now you can go to almost any grocery store, and they’ll have their own gluten-free aisle. The same goes for a restaurant. Nowadays you can get your own gluten-free menu.

The reason there’s been such an influx, is because those food manufacturers and restaurant owners watched the growing trends of gluten-free, healthier fat options, and low-carb diets on social media. And then they implemented those options in their manufacturing processes and menu items. After all, the whole point of business is to get people in your doors. And the way you get them in your doors s is by offering what they want. And to know what they want, you have to watch the market and the trends. And in social media, it’s so easy for people to share content about different health trends. And by analyzing the data of these trends and seeing what is being clicked on and hit the most, you can actually determine what to expect in your industry in the future.

Another example is travel. Right now one of the most trending locations to visit is Australia.  So, if you are a travel management company. It would do you well to look into why people are trending Australia, and where it is they want to go once they get there. By digging into details about down-under social conversations. You can see that what users are interested in seeing, like for instance, the Great Barrier Reef, wallabies, and the Sydney Opera House. All of this data will be able to help you better predict what people will want, and give you the edge on marketing to these very users.

On the flipside to this, you can actually even predict how users will respond before an item is even released, case in point self-driving cars. While this is a sci-fi dream, there has actually been a lot of trending social media with a more negative response to self-driving cars than there has been a positive response. By analyzing this data, or similar data according to a product in your industry, you can better predict how users will respond to a product before it even comes out. Which can save you tons of money in the long run by releasing a product that only a few people may be interested in.

Social media has become one of the most powerful ways to market to your users. It also has become a way to dramatically increase your SEO. And now, you can even use it to predict the future. So, it would do you well when creating your SEO marketing strategy, to focus on social media trends and analyzing the data. If you do this, you’ll give yourself a competitive edge and know how to market to your users in the best way possible.

Snapchat vs. Instagram, Which Is The Better Option?

By | Marketing, Social Media Marketing | No Comments

Let the war for stories begin. Ever since Facebook bought Instagram there has been one key feature that has been added, My Story. It bears striking similarity to Snapchat’s live feed and story. Both disappear within 24 hours, and both are videos that can be 10 seconds in length. So, now the question that begs to be asked is, “Which one do you use?” Can one of these social media platforms benefit your Indianapolis SEO marketing strategy over another? Well, let’s break it down.

The Case For Instagram

Instagram is a well-established social media platform that has about 600 million users. Snapchat on the other hand only has about 150 million user. Plus now, with the added option of connecting with Facebook friends, it makes it much easier for finding and retaining new followers. A higher number of views are also more likely when it comes to Instagram. The ability to be able to tag other Instagram users and being able to use hashtags, allows a greater amount of people to see your content.

The other thing that Instagram surpasses Snapchat in is it’s drawing capabilities. Colors are aligned at the bottom of the screen, as well as three separate tools: pen, marker, and “neon.” Those who are already familiar with Instagram may not see the point in leaving something they know and copies Snapchat. Plus, Instagram is known for their put-together profiles and allows followers to grow with them in their Instagram journey. While Snapchat sticks around for maximum 24 hours, and then it’s gone forever.

The Case for Snapchat

While the case for Instagram is very strong, there is still much to be said about Snapchat. First of all, it stands alone in its Live Stories Features. The ability to be able to contribute to other snaps has always been a popular feature. And of course the option to post a Live Story is automatically generated when you publish a Snap. Plus, Snapchat has the ability to snap any photo/video that’s in your camera roll by the way of the Memories features. With Instagram Stories, the user can only share a photo taken within the last 24 hours.

Then of course there are Snapchat’s filters. No other social media platform comes close to Snapchat in offering filters. From black and white, to sepia, to making yourself a reindeer with a high squeaky voice, to a hippie wallflower, Snapchat offers it all.

Video on Snapchat also has extra features that don’t appear on Instagram. For instance, being able to speed up, slow down, and play videos in reverse are all options on Snapchat. Plus, users can pin emoji’s or text to particular locations in videos.

And then of course, for the grand finale, you have the geofilter.  From rock concerts, to sporting events, to cities, to neighborhoods, geofilters are available to use as overlays when you’re in a particular geographic area. Plus, they’ve now customized this feature so you can make your own.

Still undecided? Well, it honestly is going to come down to what it is you want to get across to your user. Do you want to convey yourself if a more put-together professional manner? If so, Instagram is the better choice for your Indianapolis SEO Marketing strategy. However, if you want your users to see you in a silly, unedited, and raw state, then Snapchat will instantly become your best friend. Essentially, what it boils down to use is this. Both are great options, you just have to decide what platform you want to take. Happy Choosing!

How To Use Twitter To 10x Your Website Traffic

By | Marketing, Social Media Marketing | No Comments

Driving traffic to your website doesn’t have to be a difficult process. If you are aware of the current trends, and how social media works, you can easily automate ways to drive people from social media to your page without having to jump through crazy hoops. In this article, we are going to show you how you can use social media platforms, such as Twitter, to help accomplish this goal of driving 10x the traffic to your website.

First, it helps to have a basic knowledge of SEO and how it works. Keywords, for instance, are particularly important. And they are what start us off in our first step of this 3-step process. The first step is to Reach. So many people skip over this step entirely. There are thousands of people out there on social media who are looking for services exactly like yours everyday. You just have to be willing to be engaged and pay attention to see them. For example, let’s say you’re a business owner who runs a real estate company and you live in Indianapolis. Sure, you’ve done all the proper steps to bump your Indianapolis SEO rating according to Google standards, but you have yet to engage Twitter. But, much to your chagrin you finally realize you’ve left this source untapped when you see how many people posting tweets about “Needing to Find a Place to Live in Indy.” In order to help reach this audience you need to establish some keywords. Once, you have your keywords, such as Indianapolis, house, and apartment. You’ll need to set up your automated workflow.

An automated workflow looks like the following. You can:

  • Like their posts
  • Follow them
  • Add them to a list
  • Send them a direct message telling them to check out the blog you just posted about places to live in Indy.

You don’t have to use all of these, but at least use a few of them to engage and organically reach out to your users.

The second step is, Click. Once you’re actually engaging with people and no longer sitting back passively, you’ll need something for people to actually click on. Enter content. It’s important to get out quality content as often as you can. Some experts suggest that you’re posting at least 14 links a day to establish rapport with your target market. The reason the volume seems high is because the average Twitter user only spends about 13 minutes on Twitter a day. And since so much can get lost in the shuffle, it’s important to engage your users multiple times a day. Increasing your chance to be seen and have a user engage your site.

This leads us to our last step, Recycle. This means exactly how it sounds. Recycle your content. However, when doing this it’s best to use a tool to help you properly and efficiently recycle. For instance after your blog post has gone up, 14 days later, a month later, however long, that exact same post will show up again. Although it may seem redundant to recycle content, it’s actually ok because the average user probably hasn’t seen it yet. This strategy can become particularly effective when trying to boost your Indianapolis SEO (or wherever you live).

There are so many options out there now, and a ton of roads you can take when it comes to SEO and marketing. But, by following this process of reaching, clicking, and engaging, you can use social media platforms like Twitter to help boost the traffic to your website x10.

Introduction of Live Audio on Facebook

By | Marketing, Social Media Marketing | No Comments

After the recent introduction of Live 360 videos, Facebook decided to take it one step further with live audio, where users will be able to share verbal information in real time.  The upside to this is being able to launch in poor connectivity areas and weak wireless connections.

We know that sometimes publishers want to tell a story on Facebook with words and not video. We’ve even seen some Pages find creative ways to go live and reach audiences with audio only by using the Facebook Live API or by adding a still image to accompany their audio broadcast. Our new Live Audio option makes it easy to go live with audio only when that’s the broadcaster’s preferred format.- Facebook

How does it work?

Live audio works very similar to Live 360 videos.  As soon as someone starts recording a live audio, it will be pushed to the top of the newsfeed.  Any Facebook user who subscribes to Live or actively follows that individual will get a notification pop up.  When a user clicks on a Live audio, they will be able to immediately hear it and see their cover photo displayed on the main image.  A Live audio broadcast can last for up to four hours, and users can post comments and reactions while it’s happening. Android users specifically will be able to lock their phones during a Live audio as well as minimize it and use other apps during it. iOS users will be able to continue looking at Facebook.

facebook_live_audio-760x380

What potential does Live give to digital marketing?

Live audio opens an entirely new platform to the world of online marketing.  Companies can utilize it to stream podcasts where they share information about products and services as well as intriguing stories and interviews with people of influence.  Radio programs can broadcast information via Facebook Live audio, authors can be interviewed as well as have book readings, bands and musicians can have live sets and live recording sessions, and news companies will be able to broadcast during natural disasters and in conflict areas.

When can I use Facebook Live Audio?

Live audio will be introduced within the next few weeks.  Facebook recently partnered up with BBC World Service, Harper Collins, and authors Adam Grant and Brit Bennett to make this introduction.  Facebook Live audio will be available to the rest of the general public sometime in early 2017.

How to Reach More People on Facebook

By | Social Media Marketing | No Comments

Facebook has now been the number one platform people use to connect with family and friends for over 10 years.  How’s that to make you feel old today? Businesses everywhere understand the importance of utilizing Facebook in order to reach as many people as possible with their brand’s message.

sej-feature-imageRecently, however, some have experienced difficulty in reaching out to a large audience at a very affordable cost. This article will explore various ways that one can use Facebook effectively in order to reach as many people as possible.

  1. Engage Your Audience with Imagery. If done properly, this will engage your audience visually while simultaneously communicating a clear call to action. It is imperative that you do not place too much text on your image.  Users will find this spammy and most likely move on without paying it any attention.  If you are using the Facebook Power Editor tool, you will be quickly notified if your image displays too much text.
  2. Automatic Bidding so You Never Lose Your Traffic. On Facebook, your bids will be different every day, as they are optimized automatically for conversations. Some days you will have higher Cost Per Acquisition (CPA) bidding, and some days you will have lower CPA bidding.  On competitive days in the market, Facebook will automatically increase the bid to make sure that you do not lose any traffic in the process.
  3. optimization-and-delivery

  4. Don’t Let Your Ads Overlap. Overlapped ads are when you have two that are basically competing with each other. Avoid this as well as ad sets.  If not, you can hike the price up for a bid without meaning to do so.
  5. Don’t Make Changes Often. When you do this, it resets the algorithm.  If too many changes are made, Facebook will not be able to keep up and the algorithm won’t reach its fullest potential.  Keep changes limited to once per month.
  6. Reach Campaigns to Meet your Goals. It is recommended that you create a reach and frequency campaign.  When you buy a certain amount of impressions at a fixed price, essentially you are telling the Facebook algorithm your ultimate goal.
  7. Lifetime Budget. Allowing Facebook to use a lifetime budget, or a set amount of money within a set amount of time, will ultimately increase your reach.  Facebook will work to make sure you receive your best results within the time frame.  The common trend you will see is that traffic gets high in the beginning, then slows down in the middle, and gets high again toward the end.

Facebook is Adding New Tools for Commerce and Local Discovery

By | Marketing, Social Media Marketing | No Comments

Facebook wants businesses to view them as the solution for bringing in revenue via mobile devices.  In addition to this, Facebook views themselves as the local place for consumers to easily make purchases for goods and services.  With Marketplace and the Events App introductions, they are diving full force into local SEO.

facebook-local3-ss-1920

On October 19th, Facebook added even more tools for businesses and consumers.  There is a booking and ordering tool for Pages, a social recommendations tool, and a local event discovery tool.  The new call to action buttons on ‘Pages’ is the most significant addition, as consumers are able to order food online, book appointments, and purchase tickets all on Facebook.

cta-all-phone-800x339Facebook is making this possible through third-party partnerships.  These partnerships include Front Desk, MyTime, BookingBug, Pingup, Home Advisor, Setser, Simploybook.me and Schedulicity.  Facebook users will have the ability to purchase tickets through Fandango, EventBrite, and Ticketmaster.  They will also be able to request quotes from other businesses using TalkLocal or Porch.

Some of the time, not all, users will be automatically directed into the Messenger app to interact with business owners.  This process will most likely bottify over time.  For example, this would probably happen when a user was requesting an appointment from a place such as a hair salon, where the owner would need to chat with them directly about their schedule(s).

screen-shot-2016-10-19-at-6-23-47-amHomeAdvisor was asked what they thought about Facebook’s new capabilities, being one of their partners.  The response by CEO Chris Terrill was as follows:

Facebook Pages help businesses reach customers where they are already spending time, making it easier than ever for customers to find the information they need to get things done. Our Instant Booking marketplace — a marketplace that will drive one million transactions since last year’s launch — will leverage Facebook Pages to help homeowners instantly and conveniently book appointments with service providers offering 500 services from emergency repairs to kitchen remodels.

In addition to booking, Facebook has updated the Events app so consumers are able to easily discover local events taking place.  As for social recommendations, Facebook users will be able to include recommended business Pages in any comments they post.  Those recommendations will then be plotted on a map. This will be a great way for businesses to be discovered.  All in all, these changes make Facebook an incredibly useful tool for commerce and local discovery.

How to Generate Quality Leads from Social Media

By | Social Media Marketing | No Comments

Social media is used widely by brands in order to generate awareness by letting people know who you are and what you do.

social-network-media-avatars-ss-1920

In addition to this, however, it can actually be used to generate quality leads and drive up your sales numbers. Want to know how?

    • Make Your Landing Pages Social. Normal landing pages yield a straightforward process and will drive people towards your conversion goal.  If someone were to be interested in the offer, with these normal landing pages they would have no way of sharing them with other likeminded individuals.  If the landing pages were social, however, this wouldn’t be the case.  In order to make your landing page more social, you can add an option button in order to share the page or to post the update to a social media site.  You can also allow visitors to leave comments which will increase social proof.  By making your landing pages social, you will be able to reach an even greater audience with only the click of a button.

    • Route Social Media Users to Your Blog. Having a blog can be a great way to spread more information about your brand and thus convert even more sales. The question often arises, however, how do I get people to my blog?  Use social media to promote these specific blog posts.  Such downloads and special offers will get these people to your blog.  In order to do this, use visual content that will attract more people.  Also make sure to keep your updates short and to the point.  If it’s too lengthy, people will get bored and turn away.  Save the longer stuff for the actual blog post. Lastly, use relevant hashtags!

    • Create Separate Social Media Accounts on One Platform. While many businesses create a separate social media account on each platform, it is also useful to create several accounts within a single platform. This is done in order to focus on different tasks.  One account may be specifically for driving conversion through content where another one may be specialized to focus on branding alone.

  • Run Competitions. People like contests! This is an exciting way to engage people and attract new potential customers.  No one says no to a free prize. Make sure your prize does relate to your business, however, in order to avoid obtaining a bunch of low-quality leads.

Is Facebook Becoming the Next Review Platform?

By | Marketing, Reviews for SEO, Social Media Marketing, Uncategorized | No Comments

Facebook has recently added a new feature (because what platform isn’t constantly adding new features) that allows you to post reviews at places you have checked in. It looks a little something like this:

depositphotos_105234904_m-2015

What happens is, once you have ‘checked in’ to a location on Facebook, you will receive a notification from Facebook 24 hours later asking you to review and share the place you visited.

Why do people check in anyways?

People typically do this because they want others around them to know what they are up to.  After all, you seem a lot cooler to your friends if you are front row at a Coldplay concert rather than on your couch watching another Netflix series. People check-in to show off their latest meal and let people know what restaurant they should eat at next.  They even check-in to places like hospitals in order to let others know they have a sick relative or friend.  This can alert people to send support. All in all, people like to share what they are up to with others, and checkin in on Facebook is a great way to accomplish this.

check-in-to-university-of-southern-california-on-yelp-760x184

The problem with Yelp.

There are few people, awarded elite status by Yelp, that use the site often to seek and leave helpful information.  Most people only use Yelp to seek information, not to actually leave it unless it is a negative review. Because of this, they have an average rating of 3 stars for most businesses.  This leaves the scale to be grossly inaccurate, as people are receiving far more negative feed back than positive.

e4fcdb706f26100581e210145edef087Facebook can fill that void.

Nearly everyone utilizes the Facebook platform.  People use it to post exciting information about their lives, let friends and family know what’s new, seek out information about their friends and family, get useful information on things to do and places to go, advertise their businesses, and so forth.  When you receive a notification that goes directly into your feed, even if you are super busy, you can easily leave a quick review for others to see.  Facebook can fill the void Yelp has left of finding only negative reviews with the ability to reach so many more people than Yelp can.  In order to leave a review, you do not even have to write anything.  All you have to do is click the number of stars and move on with your day.  This incentivizes many people to use it.
